The Base is CNet's public message forum. Once you enter B from Main> you will be given a list of areas or "subboards" to choose from. Enter the subboard number of your choice at the command prompt. The system may optionally be configured in a "tree" format, where one or more of the options on the list (marked with DIR) will lead you to ANOTHER list of subboards.
Once you have successfully entered a subboard, you will notified of the number of items (or "posts") that have been entered by other users, and how many responses (messages added on to the end of items) the items have.
The simplest commands that are available to you here are Post (add a new item), Read (display any item), and Scan (display the item numbers and titles). Additional help is available on the following Base topics:
